Self-doubt is a sneaky little bastard.
It creeps in when you’re about to post that offer.
It whispers in your ear before you press ‘go’ on that new idea.
It shows up every time you try to step up in your business.
And if you don’t deal with it properly, it will run the show.
Quietly. Relentlessly. Until you stop trusting yourself altogether.
Here’s the truth:
Self-doubt isn’t a sign you’re not good enough.
It’s just a sign you’ve got some old emotional crap getting in the way.
That’s where EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques) comes in.
It’s not about hyping yourself up or shouting affirmations into a mirror.
It’s about clearing the root of the doubt — properly, deeply, for real.
Let’s talk about how.

Why Self-Doubt Hits Entrepreneurs So Hard
Running your own business is personal.
It’s your skills, your heart, your name, your ideas — all out there, exposed.
Of course it feels scary.
You’re risking rejection.
You’re risking judgement.
Your nervous system reacts like it’s facing an actual tiger.
Heart races. Breath shortens. Mind spins.
And if you’ve grown up hearing stuff like:
- “Don’t get too big for your boots.”
- “Who do you think you are?”
- “Better stay small and safe.”
…then every step you take toward success feels like you’re breaking some invisible rule.
Self-doubt isn’t logical.
It’s emotional.
Which means it needs an emotional solution.
How EFT Dismantles Self-Doubt (Instead of Just Patching Over It)
EFT works because it speaks the language your nervous system understands:
Touch + words + awareness = emotional rewiring.
When you tap on key points while speaking about your feelings, you send a safety signal to your brain.
You tell it:
“It’s safe to feel this.”
“It’s safe to change this.”
“It’s safe to move forward.”
It’s not about pretending the fear isn’t there.
It’s about giving the fear somewhere to go — so it doesn’t have to run your life anymore.
A Practical Tapping Routine for Confidence (You Can Use Today)
Step 1: Get specific.
Don’t just say “I doubt myself.”
Pinpoint the real fear underneath.
Example:
“I’m scared people will think I’m a fraud.”
Step 2: Start tapping on the side of your hand (Side of Hand point) and say:
“Even though I’m scared people will judge me, I accept how I feel.”
Step 3: Tap through the points:
- Eyebrow: “This fear of judgement.”
- Side of eye: “What if they think I’m a fraud?”
- Under eye: “What if I mess it up?”
- Under nose: “All this fear in my chest.”
- Chin: “This heavy feeling.”
- Collarbone: “Maybe it’s not safe to be seen.”
- Under arm: “It feels easier to stay small.”
- Top of head: “All this fear of showing up.”
Step 4: Take a deep breath. Notice the shift.
Step 5: Tap in some positives (only when it feels right):
- Eyebrow: “Maybe I’m allowed to be seen.”
- Side of eye: “Maybe my voice matters.”
- Under eye: “It’s safe for me to be visible.”
- Under nose: “It’s safe for me to take up space.”
- Chin: “I’m building belief in myself.”
- Collarbone: “I choose to back myself now.”
- Under arm: “Confidence is a practice.”
- Top of head: “I trust myself more every day.”
Repeat as needed.
This is emotional strength training, not a one-and-done fix.
Real Confidence Isn’t Loud — It’s Solid
We’ve been sold this lie that confidence means strutting around like a cocky show-off.
Nah.
Real confidence is quieter.
It’s grounded.
It’s knowing you can handle what comes.
It’s being OK with not being perfect.
You don’t have to wait until you feel 100% ready.
You don’t have to fake it till you make it.
You don’t have to “prove” anything to anyone.
You just have to back yourself enough to take the next step.
And then the next.
And then the next.
Confidence is built by action.
Action gets easier when you clear the emotional weight out of the way.
That’s what EFT does.
Final Words
If you’re serious about growing your business, you have to get serious about handling self-doubt too.
Not by muscling through.
Not by pretending it’s not there.
But by meeting it head-on and clearing it.
EFT gives you the tools to do that, without drama, without delay.
Because the truth is:
You’re already good enough.
You’re already capable.
You’re already allowed to take up space.
You don’t need fixing.
You just need freeing.
Tap for that.
And then go do the thing you came here to do.
Thank you Jo. I am on the journey to believe in myself for so many reasons I can’t even put into words. I read and watch constantly about mind, body and spirit and it totally fascinates me. I know that I am helping myself and others to the best of my ability. However, there is regularly that voice of doubt,’what are you doing?’ ‘Why would you think you can help?’ I continue to tap on my own issues daily! Very hard to put into words.
